F A Q's

Q:  Is there a minimum age for trail rides?

A:  Yes, the minimum age is 10 years old.

Q:  Are there any weight restrictions?

A:  Yes, the maximum weight for the rider cannot exceed 185 lbs. / 84 kg.

​

Q:  How long are the different rides?

A:  The jungle ride is 1.5 hours; the beach and sunset rides are each 2 hours.

​

Q:  What might be seen on a trail ride?

A:  With over 1,400 animal species and over 12,000 types of flora and fauna found in Nicaragua, you may see monkeys, sloths, squirrels, cows, anteaters, iguana, gecko, lizard, frogs, toads, various small and large birds, bats, butterflies, dragonflies, snakes, tarantulas, and SO MUCH more!  At the beach you may encounter turtles, dolphins and whales when in season.

Q:  Do I need to have previous experience to ride a horse?

A:  We do not require you have experience to ride with us!  Your trail leader will review some safety guidelines prior to departing on your adventure, and we always have additional ranch staff on the ride to ensure your safety as well as the horses.  Our horses are quite well-adjusted and know the trails like the back of their hooves.

Q.  What equipment do you provide riders?

A:  All horses are tacked up for your ride, and we also provide a selection of boots, long sleeved shirts, cowboy hats, jeans, and some helmets.

​

Q:  As a rider, what do I need to bring?

A:  You will need to wear long pants (some jeans are available at the stables if needed), and you are invited to dress in any fashion that suits you for the ride!  Keep in mind various weather factors, including constant sunshine, cloud cover, wind, rain, and water from creeks and/or ocean water.

Q.  Do trail rides happen rain or shine?

A:  Yes!  As long as it is safe to ride, we will go according to schedule.

​

Q:  What are your payment and cancellation policies?

A:  When you reserve a ride, that day and time is set aside just for you.  A valid credit card for a deposit is needed at the time of reservation to guarantee your booking.  If you cancel your reservation between the time you book it and up to 48 hours prior to the start of your ride, you will receive a refund of your deposit.  If you cancel within 48 hours of your scheduled ride, we will retain the full deposit amount for each individual reservation.  If for any reason we have to cancel a ride, we will notify you and provide a refund.  We reserve the right to cancel a ride at any time for any reason.

 

Q:  Is it ok to give gratuity (tip)?

A:  Gratuity is not included in any charge, and is always appreciated by the team.  If you wish to offer a gratuity, please present it to the trail leader for appropriate distribution.

Q:  What methods of payment do you accept?

A:  We accept Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Discover, Diner’s, JCB and UnionPay cards, as well as Apple Pay & PayPal.
