Program includes pickup at the SJDS Day School (*other pickup locations for students at other schools can be discussed)

Parents will be required to sign a waiver

Riders will be required to wear a helmet while mounted (helmets are provided)

If a session is cancelled by Big Sky, we will make it up at a future date. If a participant is unable to attend a session it will be considered a missed session

We currently have 2 instructors available. 

Big Sky stables has a training round pen and 20x40m Arena

Designed for parents or guardians and little riders to experience the magic of horses together, this gentle introduction builds comfort, trust, and curiosity from the ground up.
 

Led by Marlie Perkins, the program blends short, guided rides with hands-on grooming, playful games, and simple barn activities that strengthen coordination and confidence — for both child and parent.
 

It’s not just horse time — it’s heart time.
